Hold onto your hats. Batten down the hatches. A mere nine days after the UK was battered by Storm Ciaran another phenomenon of similar magnitude is set to race across the country as These Wicked Rivers unleash their latest single on November 10th in advance of a pre-Christmas tour taking in dates countrywide from December 1st through to the 17th.
Resistance will be futile and swept aside given the evidence of these four rapid fire minutes leaving a trail of exhausted yet enthused listeners happily reaching for the repeat button to experience a genuine FORCE OF NATURE over and over again.
This release is the title track and second single to see the light of day from the rock n roll fuelled Derby quintet’s forthcoming and highly anticipated new album due to drop on March 1st 2024.
Featuring John Hartwell (lead vocals/rhythm guitar), Arran Day (lead guitar/backing vocals), Dale Tonks (bass/backing vocals), Dan Southall (drums) and Rich Wilson (keyboards/guitar) new product is long overdue from These Wicked Rivers following the release of their incredible debut album Eden way back in 2020.
The thunderous drums of Dan Southall hit you first, before the electrifying guitars of John Hartwell and Arran Day ‘like a flash of lightning’ illuminate the skies and rock you to the core. ‘Like a forest fire’ the riff chases you at breakneck speed and lifts you up blowing you away ‘like a hurricane’ bringing with it ‘thunder, rain’ and a sonic tidal wave of gargantuan proportions.
The choral backing vocals accompanying John sounding a battle cry ‘like a howling cyclone’. Thou shall not resist the ferocious FORCE OF NATURE known collectively as These Wicked Rivers as they ‘make you crumble, make you shake’.
A brief respite at the eye of the storm as ‘time has its say’ John urges us not to ‘live a life regretting … counting down the days.’. Grasp every opportunity you can, we are all a force of nature and should endeavour to live our lives to the full no matter what gets thrown at us. ‘When your backs against the floor … Fight like your father before’.
‘You’re a force of nature’ – the storm gathers momentum once again building up to a thoroughly enjoyable crescendo of sound. Take heed, the warnings are out there well in advance. Hold onto your hats. Batten down the hatches.
