Calling all metalheads! If you’re a lover of a headbanger and are itching to get in a crowd and freak out, we’ve got you covered. Live music is back in full swing and with that said, there are lots of metal acts who have announced tours for the year ahead.
Before you fill up your diary with concerts, here are some of the most exciting metal tours that are set to take place in 2023!
Metallica
For Metallica fans, you’ll be happy to know you’re getting a brand-new album this year. Not only are the world’s biggest metal group releasing their album ’72 Seasons’ on 14th April, they are also embarking on their most ambitious tour to date. Throughout 2023 and 2024, Metallica will be taking up residency in multiple cities all over the globe. The band are also set to appear at this year’s Download Festival too!
What makes their upcoming tour unique is they’ll be playing 2 different sets! This allows them to dive into their back catalogue and pick on fan favourites that you might not have heard in a while. With support acts like Five Finger Death Punch and Pantera gracing the stage beforehand, Metallica’s tour is definitely one not to be missed!
Spiritbox
Spiritbox are undoubtedly the breakout metal group of the last couple of years. If the band’s concerts on UK soil so far are anything to go by, their tour in July is set to be one to remember. The venues they plan to play in this time are substantially bigger too. However, when you factor in the momentum the group have gained, they are rather humble in comparison to where they’re likely to be the next time they’re on tour!
As the group grow and grow, it’s inevitable they’ll take to arenas and beyond. If you want to say ‘I was there!’ before they truly hit the big time, make sure to snap up a ticket to their summer shows before they sell out. As you gear up for Spiritbox’s spectacle, why not head to OnlineCasinos UK and play on some fun-filled games to get you psyched up?
Sleep Token
If there was one band that was spoken about a lot last year, it’s got to be Sleep Token. Their mix of hook-filled; melodic pop vocals has won fans all over the globe. Sleep Token are set to grace the stage in February, playing venues all over.
Sleep Token have definitely worked their way up the live touring circuit. It was only last year where we saw the metal band play at venues like Birmingham’s 02 Institute. With a capacity of just over 1,000, they’re swapping the more intimate spaces for something bigger! Make sure to check for tickets for their upcoming UK tour to avoid disappointment!
Trivium
Trivium are another metal group that delivered an album like no other in 2020. Titled ‘What the Dead Men Say’, the album spawned an array of tracks that fans are desperate to catch live. After this release, the COVID-19 pandemic struck which put live music on the back burner. Thankfully, the Floridians whipped up another album in 2021 ‘In the Court of the Dragon’ which many fans say is better than the former!
The good news is Trivium are taking these albums on the road. Throughout 2023, the band will be playing all over the globe. Expect to hear tracks from both albums, not to forget their extensive back catalogue too.
Gojira
Having the opportunity to see Gojira in arenas throughout the UK has certainly been a long time coming. Those fans of this French prog-death-groove metal group are sure to be in for a treat. Over the past decade, Gojira have gone from strength to strength. Their last album ‘Fortitude’ is regarded as one of their best among fans.
In February, the group will be travelling up and down the UK playing shows. Like with all the tours listed, just make sure you grab a ticket fast as they’re sure to sell out! The band will be playing the likes of Nottingham, Birmingham, and a special concert and London’s Alexandra Palace.
Limp Bizkit
Can we finally say Limp Bizkit are great? It has been well over 10 years since the rap-metal legends came back to dominate Download in 2009. Throughout their career, they have been known as one of the most reliable and amazing metal groups there ever was! Limp Bizkit head to the UK shores in April to play 4 shows. Expect the most bouncy, boisterous, and raucous night of the year!
The group are sure to play songs from their 2021 studio album ‘Still Sucks’. Who knows? We may even get a little bit more from their lengthy discography! What we will say is Limp Bizkit are definitely not a group to be missed this year.
Ozzy Osbourne
When we think of metal music, it’s safe to say Ozzy Osbourne is a name that springs to mind first. Possibly the most excruciating wait that any of us have endured for a live show is this metal legend. His tour dates were originally meant to commence in 2019. However, these dates had to be rescheduled numerous times. As the years went by, we wondered whether they were ever going to happen!
While Ozzy’s health has been up and down over the years, he is still the Prince of Darkness. The good news is his tour dates are expected to run this year. It will definitely help to cross your fingers and toes too! Ozzy is expected to descend on the UK in May beginning in Nottingham, before moving on to the likes of Newcastle, Glasgow, Manchester, London, and his hometown Birmingham!
Metal fans are going to be truly spoilt this year. After all, there are so many legendary artists and bands going on tour in 2023! Whoever catches your eye, there are no excuses not to pick up a ticket to any of the tours above. We can guarantee you’re going to have a wild night out that you’ll remember forever!
