Avenged Sevenfold has announced a headline slot on the main stage at Download Festival 2024 which runs from June 14th – 16th. The band has previously headlined the festival in 2014 and 2018.

Guitarist Synyster Gates said “We are super excited to be playing Download for the third time. We are gearing up to deliver an unforgettable performance and look forward to everyone joining us for what promises to be an exhilarating event.”

They have also added headline slots at the following European festivals:
June 7              Rock am ring, Nürburg, Germany
June 9               Rock Im park, Nürnberg, Germany
June 14              Novarock, Nickelsdorf, Austria
June 14 -16        Download Festival, Donington Park, UK
June 19-22          Copenhell, Copenhagen, Denmark

In June this year the band released their 8th studio album ‘Life Is But A Dream…”. Written and recorded over the span of four years, it was produced by Joe Barresi and AVENGED SEVENFOLD in Los Angeles and mixed by Andy Wallace in the Poconos, Pennsylvania.

The album is a journey through an existential crisis; a very personal exploration into the meaning, purpose, and value of human existence with the anxiety of death always looming.

The Arts Desk – “That a metal band would dare to do this is one thing. That they pull it off is quite another.”
Metal Hammer – “It’s a deranged psycho-metal musical with hardcore, hip hop, electronic music and jazz burned into its circuits.” 9/10
Kerrang -“.. good. Damn good. Crazily so.” 4/5
The Guardian – “deliriously ambitious”
The Telegraph Kaleidoscopic, disorientating and fearless..”

Recently the band released a twisted music video for their single “Mattel”.  Directed by Zoe Katz [Robot ChickenBrad Pitt’s Magical Adventure], the live-action visual plunges into a plastic world starring various dolls.

The band not only continues a career tradition of arresting and provocative visuals, but they also raise the bar once again.

The band has also just partnered with SCUF Gaming to drop a pair of exclusive controller bundles. Together, they created new limited-edition SCUF Instinct Pro and SCUF Reflex FPS controller bundles decked out with the album’s instantly recognizable imagery and artwork from renowned artist Wes Lang.

To date, Avenged Sevenfold has sold over 10 million albums worldwide and earned two consecutive No. 1 albums on Billboard’s Top 200 Albums chart (2010’s Nightmare and 2013’s Hail To The King) to go along with over a billion video views and a billion-plus Spotify streams, as well as multiple No. 1 singles on rock radio.

The band (comprising M. Shadows, Synyster Gates, Zacky Vengeance, Johnny Christ and Brooks Wackerman) is equally known for spectacular live shows, selling out arenas and headlining the world’s most prestigious rock festivals as well as always being at the forefront of rapidly changing technology, cultural mile markers, and new ways for communities to engage.
