Hombres, the ninth studio album from Scottish rock heroes GUN, is set for release on April 12th, 2024 via Cooking Vinyl.

Today, GUN are delighted to announce a handful of additional intimate gigs to preview Hombres to excited fans. Tickets will go on sale on Wednesday, 31st January, at 10am. Head to https://gun.tmstor.es/ to grab your tickets.

Guitarist Giuliano “Jools” Gizzi comments, “We played some new tracks recently at Glasgow Barrowland, and the reaction we got blew us away. We are eager to share our new music with everybody as we are proud of our latest album, ‘Hombres’. We will be playing a bunch of new tracks at these shows and can’t thank the fans enough for all their support.“

The group have also added earlier matinee performances for two of their post-release, sold out Scottish dates. In Glasgow and Dunfermline, doors will open at 5pm for the matinee performance and 8pm for the evening, with the band expected onstage approximately an hour later for an hour-long set.

Declared “some of their best songs since Gallus!” by Iron Maiden’s Steve Harris, Hombres is the first album of all new music from the group since 2017’s Favourite Pleasures, which entered the UK official album chart at #16.

The thirteen tracks on Hombres were recorded and produced by Simon Bloor (Trevor Horn) with mixing by Daryl Thorpe (Foo Fighters) at Morsecode Studios and Strongroom Studio. The record boasts guest vocals from Beverley Skeete (Elton John, Chaka Khan, Tom Jones, Johnny Cash), Mary Pearce (Primal Scream, Lionel Ritchie, Chaka Khan) and Sarah-Jane Skeete (Robbie Williams, Kylie Minogue, Bill Wyman) of The Sisterhood on several tracks, as well as a guest performance on the drums from Joe Lazerus of Twin Atlantic.

Earlier this month, GUN dropped rollicking new single “Take Me Back Home.” Stuffed full of riffs, the track is available on all streaming platforms now.

Vocalist Dante Gizzi comments, “‘Take Me Back Home’ is a song that encompasses all aspects of obsession and determination. I had a deep fixation with a driving arcade game called Outrun when I was a kid. The track relates with the idea of the high octane intensity and the will to complete the next level, which was always within reach but always out of grasp.”

The album is available in multiple formats as both standard and deluxe editions, including on CD, vinyl, and digitally.

The rock ruffians latest release was 2022’s collection of acoustic reworkings, The Calton Songs, which delighted fans and brought further chart success, clocking in at #2 on the Scottish album chart, #6 on the UK indie chart, and #13 on the UK physical albums chart. GUN also received two awards last November; the band was honoured with the Rock Legend award at Hard Rock Hell in Great Yarmouth and the Hard Rock Café Legends award at the Scottish Music Awards, the flagship event for the Nordoff-Robbins Music Therapy charity.
