Review by Paul Monkhouse for MPM

Five. Four. Three. Two. One. We have lift off. Kicking off with a monstrous riff, new outfit Cicadia launch themselves straight into the stratosphere with this, their first single.

An adrenaline-soaked rocket ride, hard as nails fretwork and the soaring vocals of Mecia-jade Holden smash you in the face and then seduce you as you lie, crumpled on the floor, bloody and bruised.

With the sledgehammer drums and bass driving everything at breakneck speed, the sweet but barbed sugar rush number brings to mind the best of arena fillers like Alter Bridge and Halestorm in that huge hooks and irresistible chorus way.

With its instant and seismic impact, this could well be one of the best debuts you’re likely to hear this year. A phenomenal start to what promises to be a band destined to tear down cities and conquer planets.
