Review by Paul Monkhouse for MPM
Ducking, diving and then swinging in with a huge left hook to the jaw, ‘Hourglass’ is a pounding slab of heavyweight tunage from Kris Barras and company.
Featuring rocks most prominent bit of whistling since Scorpions ‘Wind of Change’, this continues the West Country rocker’s turn to the dark side of ever more-heavier material.
Widescreen and stadium filling, ‘Hourglass’ glories in urgent and impassioned vocals, massive grooves and blitzkriegingly industrial fretwork, the whole something that will lift you for days.
With new album ‘Halo Effect’ set to be released in April, this mouth-watering taster promises that 2024 is going to be a very big year for the quartet as they continue their rise. Prepare to be knocked out.
KRIS BARRAS BAND comprises frontman Kris Barras, Josiah J. Manning on guitar, Billy Hammett on drums, and latest member Frazer Kerslake on bass.
