Following the hard rocking metalliferous trails blazed out of Bridgend by the likes of Bullet For My Valentine, Funeral For A Friend and, most latterly, Those Damn Crows the force of nature collectively known as Edit The Tide are keen to share their heavy melodies far and wide.
Mercifully the tale of a certain house party, ‘back in the day’, and the mistaken hot-tub identity remains untold.
A short while prior to the release of their third single ‘Ambience’, at the tail end of January, ETT found themselves upon ‘the sofa’ and in humorous form for a r n’ r conversation with MPM’s Gary Spiller.
Comprising of Ben (vocals), Rob (rhythm guitar), Gav (lead guitar), Rudy (drums) and Dav (bass) this five-piece are the very embodiment of all things Bridgend and the valleys – a large percentage of the band have their roots in the Ogmore Valley just north of Bridgend – ETT have come the long way to this juncture.
The journey thus far, via Blackmill’s Community Centre and the indomitable Margaret and other ‘Valley Legends’, is discussed along with the concept of the videos for ‘Ambience’ and the incredible atmospherics of ‘Skylines’ – watch them and see for yourselves!
We discuss the ever-important matter of men’s mental health and their link-up with Bridgend organisation Lads & Dads.
