Review by Paul Monkhouse for MPM
Anyone who has witnessed The Forsaken live will see a band stripped of ego and affectation, the thrilling riffs with the power of a drag racer and the whole shot through with no small whiff of highly inflammable fuel.
This is a band that embraces and epitomises the visceral as guitars, drums and bass come together in a brawling whole, the punch of a heavyweight combined with a streetfighter’s switchblade.
Central to all this is the raw vocals of Daniel Hunsdon practically bleed with authenticity, a life lived and every victory hard won but always striving to go in the right direction.
With its throbbing bass intro, the guitars come crashing in with a riff that will flatten buildings and it’s just a case of holding tight to the charging beast. Tender, tough and raging, this is what metal should be.
