Review by Paul Monkhouse for MPM

Proving that lightning does strike twice, Essex based quintet Circadia have yet again brought the hammer down in style with this, their sophomore single release.

Despite what the naysayers like to spread, there are plenty of bands out there hitting the roads and kicking down doors with enough city block demolishing intent to convert the sceptical.

Kicking off with a big, fuzzy riff, ‘World of Games’ suddenly explodes into a welter of light and sound that’s enough to fry synapses, the tug of war between the crushing heaviness and huge hooks a battle worth seeing.

With Mecia-jade Holden’s distinctive vocals bringing a diamond bright shine that has echoes of the best the big names in the USA has to offer, the crossover potential is huge and if the band continues with this trajectory, the world is theirs for the taking.

There’s plenty more where this came from.
