Ferocious Dog proudly release their evocative, poignant and  beautiful brand new single, ‘A Place We Call Home’, on Graphite Records, watch the video below.

A story about romance in rough times, ‘A Place We Call Home’ brings about a sense of home and embrace, and finishes with an epic finale delivered by guest singer Lizzey Joy Ross.

The lyrics confront the pressing issues of poverty and homelessness we see growing in the UK;  this critical issue is of paramount importance to Ferocious Dog and is evident to anyone attending their shows, where fans contribute to a local food banks each night.

“It was great to work with Lizzey and our Sam Wood on this amazing collaboration.

Sam once played me a different song that he and Lizzey were working on and I just said that her voice was amazing and I wondered if it would work on a Ferocious Dog song…

Sam Wood came up with the music for APWCH and some beautiful chord arrangements on his guitar, then I wrote the lyrics to fit.

I’ve known Lizzey for a few years now, she’s played with FD a few times as our backing singer and also gave me some vocal coaching. In the recording studio Lizzey just blew it out of the water with her voice, a truly amazing singer and she nailed the song first take.

I look forward to joining up again with Lizzey to perform the song LIVE! For the first time on the single’s release day in Sunderland, Fri, 26th April – and she is joining us again at Rock City in Nottingham, Saturday 18th May, for our biggest headline show of the album release tour!“-  Ken, Ferocious Dog

‘A Place We Call Home’ is the third single to be taken from their forthcoming new studio album Kleptocracy, which is released  on 17th  May;  Along with ‘A Place We Call Home’ and the previous singles, ‘Sus Laws, and ‘Blood Soaked Shores  the album features a further nine songs, and will be available on CD, Deluxe CD (with 4 bonus songs), transparent red vinyl (exclusive from the band’s website), clear vinyl , black vinyl and all digital platforms.

Kleptocracy, delves into themes of societal injustices and the enduring struggle against exploitation, echoing the band’s commitment to shedding light on the issues plaguing Broken Britain and our world today.

In typical Ferocious Dog fashion the album is a mix up of all sorts of genres! To name a few of the influences that appear: Celtic folk, gypsy folk, blues, dissident folk, pop punk, full on hardcore punk, and straight up rock. However, despite the many styles, primarily this album in particular goes back to a more classic folk punk sound.” – Ferocious Dog.

Kleptocracy is the follow up to The Hope which debuted at Number One on the Official UK & Ireland Folk Album Charts  and entered the National Album charts at Number 31.

With a righteous anger and a brand new line-up, Ferocious Dog “didn’t want this album to sound just like The Hope or previous albums, we wanted to put our own stamp on it. So even though this album has the same undercurrent as all Ferocious Dog albums, it is faster, more rocky and a closer reflection of our live shows. It has been a great venture all working together on this album amidst all the shows and tours.”

Thought provoking and politically charged, Ferocious Dog seem to have the knack of evolving their dynamic and eclectic music, without losing any of the sound or attitude that made you fall in love with them in the first place.

“These performances aren’t just about the music; they’re a rallying cry for change, a space to unite and amplify voices against corruption and injustice.”

Furthermore, Ferocious Dog will also be undertaking 7 lunchtime in-store signing events across the UK, to promote Kleptocracy. Each event offers the fans a unique opportunity to get up close and personal with the band, and get their hands on some autographs.
