Fresh from Shining In The Half Light Elles Bailey once again steps out of the shadows with Leave The Light On the second single to emerge from forthcoming album Beneath The Neon Glow which is due to drop August 9th on Cooking Vinyl Records.

Three and a half emotion laden minutes that demonstrates the vocal excellence which recently saw the versatile Bristol songstress add 2024 UK Blues Vocalist of the Year to an already impressive array of awards – no mean feat given the quality of vocalists Elles was up against.

Written in tribute to Elles’ husband the autobiographical song emerged following a late night return from the capital city. As Elles approached home she saw the outside light of the family abode left on to welcome her.

Elles feels equally at home with the familiar figures of her touring band – Matthew Jones (drums), Matthew Waer (bass), Jonny Henderson (keys) and Joe Wilkins (guitar) – as they provide the musical accompaniment. Jonny’s exceptional keys providing the backdrop to Elles opening vocal ‘I’m a rubber band, I’m a boomerang, I need to fly but have a place to land’. Apt lyrics for the ever busy Bailey who never seems to stop, constantly touring and recording whilst delivering a weekly radio show and being a mum to a young child too.

‘Always moving forward, a little too fast for you’ Elles acknowledges her busy life and the ‘heart of gold’ of her husband throughout this punchy catchy number which also features a rip-roaring lead break from Joe Wilkins at the track’s mid point.

Some seven years since the release of debut album Wildfire the hard work and commitment of Elles is starting to pay off with extensive tours and the recent announcement of a slot at the 2024 Glastonbury Festival.

Tunes such as this can only enhance her reputation and help to ensure venues across the nation and beyond leave the lights on. Lights that emblazon the name Elles Bailey and welcome an army of fans to yet another sold out show.

Elles will also head out on a huge UK headline tour later this year, which includes a date at London’s Islington Assembly Hall on November 2nd. Tickets on sale HERE.
