Review by Richard Henry for MPM
Coming from Louisville Kentucky, this is the second full length album from this 5 piece, I have a fair idea what I am getting into with this one, so let’s dig it up and get stuck in!
Rise Again
From the off that is like Grave or Dismember crossed with Gorefest, then a sort of atonal riff comes in with a dragging groove, that is a crisp production as well, that break down has Suffocation written all over it, then as the tempo kicks in there is a tapped riff and then a really nice chromatic riff with loads of pinch harmonics in it, really nice mix of the groove, breakdowns and then the blasts when needed, good first track!
A Summoning
Thats just dirty, in the style of Immolation at the start of that, the n the kicks come in with a nice grindy riff before we half time and the slow double bass groove takes over, it is just a really nasty feel to this one, then a more technical section comes in before it hits a really slow breakdown with a pinch harmonic riff, they really go heavy on the breakdown parts, as this one keeps going from one to another!
Weeping in Pain
Octave riff to start this with the drums accenting it, then a nice harmony part and a cool bass line inf the background, then it comes in with a sledgehammer of a riff, slow and ominous sounding, before it then kicks into 4th gear with that next riff, nice change back to the slow breakdown riff, love that sliding octave riff coming in again, there is that Immolation thing where it keeps changing tempos, then a clean guitar comes in unexpectedly at the end as the song plays out.
Next to Bleed
Thats a pure Corpse style riff to kick that one off and then it immediately drops into a slow part for a few bars before the blast come in for the verse, brutal next section with the kicks and the riff after that is just awesome, that’s so old school sounding, then a nice harmony guitar riff part, it’s all over the map as we hit that opening riff again, that is short and to the point!

21 Sacrament’s
Almost like a melodic death metal start ala ATG, then again you hit a really dirgy breakdown riff that has the old school blasts underneath it, then that pinch harmonic breakdown section, lot of Broken Hope in here, Loathing-Repulsive Conception era, like that breakdown in the middle, it doesn’t go how you’re expecting it to, that’s for sure, another banger of a track!
Sacrificial Deed
Slow riff to kick this off, just the drum getting hit on the four, then boom, tempo doubles and the kicks are flying, almost switching again to Entombed sounding on that second part of the riff, the tempo slowing on purpose in the middle of the riffs is a nice touch as well, comes as a surprise, again all over the map on the way out, it’s sickening, love it!
Death Comes to All
Ok, Mike DiSalvo era Cryptopsy, that’s straight off the bat what I am getting from this one, switching from double kick to blasts to tom groove then into an old school section and riff right out of that into another atonal breakdown section, there is a really cool riff 50 seconds in with another sliding octave part, then we get a solo, which is nice because it splits up the song a bit, Cannibal riff, well anyone plays diminished hammer ons are going to sound like Cannibal but you will know what i mean when you hear it!
Crazed Killer
Drum fill into a slow ride cymbal groove, think Slayer, then immediately it changes into a Swedish sounding section, then immediately it changes to blasts, breakdowns, there is a lot in such short songs, I do think they rely on the atonal breakdown riff a bit mush is the only thing!
Locked Out
Straight in with the blasts from the start of this one, furious opening, then it changes into a double bass groove part with a really nice sliding riff, then that sort of atonal riff come ins with the kicks before we slow it right down again into a breakdown part, then it half times again, not sure about the ending of this one with the voices, it’s a bit weird and unfocused?
Fused With Soil
Longest song on the album at three mins and it’s the closer, flying double kicks and a really notey guitar riff, then it breaks into a tom groove part, then comes in the mid-tempo riff with the pinch harmonics, you guessed it, breakdown part again, nice pick up out of it to be fair, then a real old school riff, that’s really nice, when the blasts hit it’s like you’re in a roller coaster, there is so much being thrown at you in this song already, what are we going to finish with, a breakdown!!

8 out of 10
I really enjoyed that album, great old school death metal, good production, good playing, I think the only thing is i wish the songs where a bit longer as the tempo changes are so abrupt because the songs are all pretty much two mins, absolutely worth a listen!!!
