Review by Paul Monkhouse for MPM

One of the most brutal bands from the North East since Venom, KIlonova aren’t interested in taking prisoners, their aim instead to eviscerate everything in their path.

Fuelled by a diet of beer and incandescent rage, the quartet unleash the sonic onslaught that is ‘Gatekeeper’ to adrenaline powered effect and damn it’s a rush.

With the spiked barbs of Ellen Hill’s unhinged vocals, the jagged riffing of Jonny Sloan and the thunderous drive of Joe Bambrick’s bass and the drums of Steve Rouse, the number is like having your head nailed to an Apollo rocket just as it’s taking off.

With a laser focussed precision at the centre of the skull crushing wallop, the band show they’ve got the stuff to become a major name on the scene and are already making some tsunami sized waves in metal.

Who needs Red Bull when you can just put this on. Fearless and brilliant, Kilonova are here to stay.

With an injection of new music, Kilonova are touring across the UK in Spring 2025, to welcome a growing number into their base of headbangers.

Kilonova are:

Ellen Hill – Vocals

Jonny Sloan – Guitar

Joe Bambrick- Bass,

Steve Rouse – Drums
