To celebrate 10 years of the brand, Radio X, the home to huge rock and indie tunes, announced today (Monday 22nd September) that it will host an exclusive gig in Manchester this November – with Blossoms, Hardi Fi, Jake Bugg, and Circa Waves billed to perform, and Radio X’s Sunta Templeton set to provide the tunes in between acts.

Taking place on Monday 3rd November at the O2 Apollo Manchester, Radio X is Ten Live with Škoda will mark 10 years of the station with sets from north-west heroes Blossoms, indie-pop outfit Circa Waves, generational songwriting talent Jake Bugg, and ’00s indie legends Hard-Fi, who are marking 20 years since the release of their debut album.

Taking place in Manchester, the gig will connect Radio X listeners with a city renowned for its rich heritage and influence on modern rock and indie culture. For decades, Manchester has continued to shape British music, producing iconic bands like Oasis, The Smiths, Joy Division, The Stone Roses, Happy Mondays, New Order, and countless other artists whose legacy Radio X proudly keeps alive today.

Preparing to play a homecoming show in front of local fans, Greater Manchester’s indie heroes Blossoms, the outfit behind hits like ‘Charlemagne,”The Honeymoon’ and’Your Girlfriend,’ have become one of the UK’s standout guitar bands over the past decade, and released their fifth studio album, Gary, to critical acclaim last year.

Joining the bill is Liverpool’s Circa Waves, who will bring their indie rock sound to the O2 Apollo Manchester having carved out a reputation as one of the UK’s most energetic live bands over the past 10 years with hits like ‘T-Shirt Weather’ and ‘Movies.’

Best known for his youthful blend of rock, blues and folk on tracks like ‘Lightning Bolt,’ ‘Zombieland,’ and ‘All I Need,’ Nottingham-born singer and friend of the station Jake Bugg will take to the stage just over a year after the release of his sixth studio album, A Modern Day Distraction.

Earlier this year, Hard-Fi celebrated their own milestone occasion – 20 years of their 2005 debut album, Stars of CCTV. Now, the ’00s indie legends will bring their huge, nostalgic sound to the O2 Apollo Manchester to celebrate a decade of Radio X.

And to set the mood for the evening, Radio X’s own Sunta Templeton, who has been with the station for the entirety of its 10 years, will be behind the decks to kick the evening off, bringing the Manchester crowd a barrage of indie bangers ahead of and in between the artists taking the stage. The event will be sponsored by Škoda, the long-term partner and sponsor of The Chris Moyles Show on Radio X.

Matt Deverson, Managing Editor of Radio X, said“This is a landmark moment for Radio X. For 10 incredible years, we’ve delivered to our loyal and dedicated listeners the biggest tunes, unforgettable guests, and our unique blend of charm and swagger. We wanted to celebrate this milestone together with our audience, and I’m thrilled that we get to do this in one of British guitar music’s most iconic cities: Manchester. Get ready to bounce – this will be an unforgettable night of massive tunes, an electric atmosphere, and a celebration worthy of a decade of Radio X!”

On Sunday 21st September, Radio X marked a decade of bringing listeners the biggest guitar-based anthems, celebrity guests, and world class programming from its line-up of presenters, including Chris Moyles, Johnny Vaughan, Toby Tarrant, Dan O’Connell, Issy Panayis, Danny Wallace, Polly James, John Kennedy, Sarah Gosling, Ed Gamble, Matthew Crosby, and more.

Radio X listeners who are logged into Global Player will get exclusive pre-sale access to tickets from 9am on Wednesday 24th September through a Radio X pre-sale. Tickets will then go on general sale from 9am Friday 26th September on Global Player.

Listeners will need to download Global Player, the official Radio X app, on their smartphone or tablet from the Apple app store or Google Play app store – sign up is quick, easy and free.
