Rock & Roll Hall of Famer Sammy Hagar has released a staggering live version of the Van Halen classic, ‘Best of Both Worlds’ from his forthcoming live album, ‘The Residency’ Out October 10th.

“This song was never released as a single, but the live video from the 5150 tour became an MTV hit—especially the intro where we did the 5150 walk across the stage” Sammy says of the track. “That still gets the crowd riled up with big smiles and hands in the air today. 40 years later, it’s just one of those songs that puts a timeless smile on your face and always brings the party meter into the red in concert. These songs need to be played loud to get the full effect. Neighbors beware.”

Sammy Hagar & The Best of All Worlds Band: The Residency, a hit-filled live album captured during his acclaimed 2025 Las Vegas residency at Dolby Live at Park MGM is set for release on October 10, 2025. Featuring Hagar and The Best of All Worlds Band—Michael Anthony (bass, vocals), Joe Satriani (guitar), Kenny Aronoff (drums), and Rai Thistlethwayte (keyboards, vocals, guitar) the live album captures 18 high-octane live tracks celebrating Hagar’s legendary catalog, including the deepest dive into his tenure with Van Halen in more than 20 years. The first advance track, “Summer Nights (Live),” is out now on all DSPs, and album pre-orders are live today via Big Machine Rock.

The Best of All Worlds Tour, the single “Encore, Thank You, Goodnight,” and Hagar’s Vegas residency have received universal raves from fans who waited 20 years to hear many of the songs live again, and critics alike, including:

●      “(It) was not just a performance but a ‘celebration’ of Van Halen’s enduring legacy… And the fans couldn’t agree more.” – USA Today

●      “I get emotional just listening to it.” – Howard Stern, The Howard Stern Show

●      “This is a seemingly impossible collaboration of Hagar, Satriani, Anthony, Aronoff and — from beyond — Eddie Van Halen.” – Las Vegas Review-Journal

●      “Delighting fans with iconic songs like ‘Why Can’t This Be Love,’ Hagar cemented himself as an important figure in rock history.” – Parade

●      “Sammy Hagar has gone from rock star and ‘Van Hagar’ to the everyman of rock. Who else but Hagar would be welcomed at the country festival Stagecoach and Black Sabbath’s farewell show to pay tribute to Ozzy Osbourne?” – Forbes
