New Zealand’s Standover burst onto the scene with a name that perfectly matches their unrelenting sound: violent, raw, and unapologetically confrontational. Rooted in the spirit of hardcore but driven by the crushing weight of metallic ferocity, the band delivers an aural assault that simply refuses to back down.
Comprised of members from some of New Zealand’s heaviest exports, namely Forced To Submit, Damaged, Demonstrate, Saving Grace, and Vicissitude, Standover brings decades of combined experience and aggression to the table. The result is a sound built for chaos: powerful riffs, thunderous low-end, pulse-pounding rhythms, and the kind of guttural fury that could level buildings.
Their debut full-length, “…When A Clenched Fist Is No Longer An Option”, is set for release on June 9 via Gutter Prince Cabal. It was produced by Vasely Sapunov, engineered by Sapunov and Troy Kelly, and edited, mixed, and mastered by Francesco Petrelli.
