On a marvellously mashed-up evening where three extremely diverse bands blur the strict boundaries of musical genre definition there’s a clear subliminal message additionally delivered. It’s unspoken, no words are necessary in truth, boundaries are broken down and blurred in the despatch that, irrespective of your background, music need recognise no borders whilst being a successful unifying kinetic.

The famous Rock City in Nottingham, my second home, is buzzing and it’s not surprising as tonight we have a lineup that promises an unrelentingly brutal assault on the senses.

The Rock Gods decided that I didn’t do enough hard rock reviews so they twisted my arm to go and see Nashville Pussy a four piece outfit from Atlanta, Georgia.

Last night, the Eagles Ballroom in Milwaukee was transformed into an intimate haven for alternative rock fans as Cory Marks, 10 Years and Theory of a Deadman took the stage for rare, stripped-down acoustic performances.

This has been one of my most anticipated gigs for years. Having only discovered the band when I reviewed recent album What Doesn’t Kill Me and being completely blown away I was desperate to see how good this band is live and boy did I leave that venue impressed.

It’s safe to say that 2024 has been an incredible year in musical terms for us on a personal level. Amongst the magical maelstrom of crowd surfing wheelie bins and marauding Vikings with more theatrical fire than a blast furnace there is, nevertheless, space and time sufficient for moments of intimacy and unbridled passion.

On a night where Belfast streets and venues are filled with ghouls and ghosts and other random forms of fancy dress, it seems only fitting that Hotter Than Hell get glammed up and put on a Halloween show at the Mandela Hall in Belfast.

So tonight, in Belfast we are going old school with Kings of Thrash. One of the first Megadeth albums I ever heard was “So Far So Good So What” with two of the guys tonight in that lineup, the venue tonight is the Limelight 2 and a small crowd in already for the first band although a really early start time yet again.
