It’s well over a year since MPM last caught up with Scarlet Rebels’ frontman Wayne Doyle so we thought it high time we righted that ‘wrong’ and see how things are progressing over in Rebel Club.

Little did anyone know that evening, when Wayne laid out his hopes for ‘See Through Blue’, that the Rebels’ first release for Earache would triumphantly gate-crash the top 10 of the UK Official Album charts!

Some 15 months on and the Rebels continue their ascent with memorable festival appearances such as that sunny evening up the mountain at Steelhouse when the crowd continued singing as the technology momentarily failed. From special guests to fellow Welshman Phil Campbell at Love Rocks to supporting Fozzy and Stone Broken across the UK plus a batch of gigs over in Germany 2022 has been a year to remember.

Looking ahead for the rest of 2023 Wayne confirms that the song writing and recording process is underway for the next – as yet untitled – album with hints given to a new writing partnership in its infancy. The prospect of new material and festival appearances at the likes of Just Push Play, Bonfest and Rockstock plus gigs in Germany and, for the first time, in Belgium demonstrate the unsatiable industrious appetite Llanelli’s history makers possess.
