Scrap the old-school idea of a rock band and replace it with MOON SHOT, a band where insight and experience replace youthful chaos as the thing that leads to great rock’n’roll. This is timeless music that sits right at home in the times we live in.

Feel the energy from these musicians who have been around the block enough times to deliver you “The Power“.

While the first two singles “Yes!” and “Shadow Boxer” are enjoying steadily growing popularity and have been staying in the radio charts for several weeks and climbing higher week after week, Finnish alternative rockers MOON SHOT are gearing up to release their second studio album entitled “The Power“, on April 26th, 2024 via Reaper Entertainment.

Today, the band presents their third digital single “Blackened Spiral“, and kick off the pre-order launch of the new album.

Along with it comes a music video once again created by director Sami Joensuu, which you can watch below.

Blackened Spiral is a very special song, as it includes two opposites. For one, it’s pretty light and pop sounding for a Moon Shot song. On the other hand the message behind the song is profound and deep“, says chief composer, guitarist and producer Jussi Ylikoski. “It’s about dealing with and accepting death.

Lyrically Blackened Spiral is one of the most honest, raw and painful text I’ve ever written for Moon Shot. The positive pulse of the song builds the perfect dialogue with these fateful lyrics“, comments vocalist and lyricist Ville Malja and adds: “The song is for those who have lost someone they love. It’s dedicated to the beautiful memories that stay with us forever no matter what happens.

Video director Sami adds:
With every video I’ve ever done, the visual world starts by being 100% present in the song first. Usually by playing it on repeat in the car. I never add film techniques or tricks into any video by force, they have to fit the song.

During the start of the project, we had a great chat with Ville about the song and the color purple kept on coming up. That got my thoughts going towards explosive colors in general and that’s where animation/AI entered the picture.

We knew from the get-go that we didn’t want the whole video to be animated though, which created the foundation for what you see in the end result: a blending of explosive live action, with the trippy world of the animations/AI. Combining those two felt like an exciting challenge.

The album can now be pre-ordered on vinyl, CD, a limited and personalized special edition, or as an exclusive bundle with a limited edition shirt at: www.reaper-entertainment.com

The album’s track list reads as follows:
1. Life is a Killer
2. Blackened Spiral
3. The Power
4. Arms Around Me
5. Shadow Boxer
6. Yes!
7. Ride Faster
8. Stars Are Holes
9. Supercharged Love
10. Deep Hood
11. 1800 Nights

The first single “Yes!” was released in September 2023 and has been on radio stations’ playlists ever since; enjoying growing popularity. The second single “Shadow Boxer“, which has been available since November 2023, emulates its predecessor and has become a genuine radio hit.

The third single “Blackened Spiral” will herald the start of the album’s pre-order on January 26th. Stay tuned!
