Review by Paul Monkhouse for MPM
Almost a year after teasing the world with the possibility of a new single, ‘Dogs of War’ is here and it’s a rebirth for the Crüe.
Accompanied by the disturbing and mindboggling promo video, this first release with John 5 on guitar kicks off with a giant, heavy riff before sliding with ease into a Glam slammer with bite.
Displaying the classic, snotty nose sleaze that made the band’s name in the early 80’s, this slithering beast is full of curves and melody matched with a chant-along chorus that’s destined to be shouted back in arenas all over the globe.
The solo sizzles as Tommy Lee and Nikki Sixx bring the punchy drive, the distinctive sneer of Vince Neil’s voice spitting out venom. Who knows how long we’ll have to wait for an album, but for now, this will do nicely.
