Review by Lydia Evans for MPM

British rock band The Hot Damn! Have released their latest single, Jukebox On The Radio. The band’s debut album, Dancing On The Milky Way, will be released on 27th September.

Jukebox On The Radio captures a funky, retro essence. The bass and guitar have a swagger about them, whilst the drums keep it steady. Vocalist Gill Montgomery has a strong pop voice that perfectly complements the tune.

It’s hard to place this song in one genre or box – it’s unique. Drummer Josie O’Toole described their music as “Rock-meets-pop-meets-punk-meets-disco to create something I would describe as interesting, relatable but, most of all, FUN!” This I agree with.

The accompanying video is fun, with bright colours, groovy clothes, and the feeling of an old-style music video.

The Hot Damn! Will be performing at a few UK festivals this summer. They’re a band to keep your eye on; I look forward to hearing their debut album in September
