American rockers Preacher Stone have, make no bones about it, faced an unholy amount of adversity in the last few months. With their fifth album, aptly entitled, ‘V’ completed and awaiting release the news broke of the tragic passing of enigmatic keyboardist Johnny Webb.
This gut-wrenching announcement was followed, a couple of months after with the equally awful news of the loss of founding member, and guitarist, Marty Hill.
As ever it is an absolute pleasure chatting with Jim and Ronnie as we talk through the healing processes and the depth of feelings throughout the band. This isn’t a band about to give up on matters, far from it. With Marty’s chosen replacement Nick Nguyễn firmly ensconced in the Stone’s lineup the quintet is gearing up for a trip across The Atlantic for seven UK dates.
With three apiece with Tom Killner and their good ol’ buddies Sons Of Liberty before a tour closing slot at Maid Of Stone there is much to look forward to. With a high bar set with ‘V’ there’s an eagerness not only to translate this into the live arena but also to continue the ascent onto their sixth album. Something which is already being planned, tentatively, for autumn ’25.
Watch out for a new video dropping in the near future too! Shoot day is imminent with a release date due but not yet publicly confirmed.
