Review by Paul Monkhouse for MPM

One of the most unutterably cool bands on the scene, London quintet Dead Writers have been casting their spell over audiences whenever they play.

With a sartorial style that mixes elegantly wasted Victorian poets with peak 70’s Bowie glam, they’re certainly a striking vision and this new single may be their finest hour so far.

Capturing their air of mystery with a sonic blast of seriously snake-hipped rock ‘n’ roll, ‘Meet The Shadow’ has something of the New Romantic era but with a lot more balls and less fey posturing.

Urgent, rushing and wrapped in a mystery, this is vibrant, sexy, dark and anthemic stuff. Music to make you don a cravat and eyeliner, Dead Writers evolution continues and it’s only a matter a time before they become THE name to drop. Magnificent.
